Last year i ran the XLs(supersoil) outside and was happy with the smaller plants and they were fine.

I also ran 20 gallon fabric pots in a tray with the autopot valve glued to the tray. However the plant never seemed to get enough water and i had to do a lot of top watering.
This year im going to try the easy2grow kit for the value but would love to hear if anyone is using a similar setup with larger pots and trays and can offer any advise.

I believe my main problem was the tray didn’t allow water to get under the fabric pot and absorb the water entirely on the bottom. The type i used didn’t have ridges.

Hi There…… A 20 gallon pot will be fine but you will need to water from the top for a while, to get the roots down to the bottom….. Also ensure you use a good substrate or blend of substrates to ensure good capillary lift….. We have used 33 gallon SmartPots in the past with fantastic results. The water will pass through the fabric no problem, so don’t worry there. I would also use an AQUAvlave cover over your AQUAvalve and not glue it down.
